Essaouira – Mogador

Formerly known as Mogador, the name given by the Portuguese, Essaouira has a long history.
As a city of art and history, one just has to get lost in the medina with its small shops and flavours, visit the many art galleries, admire the ocean from the Skala (the ramparts) or the terrace of a restaurant.
The beach of Essaouira has remained wild and extends for 6 km. Relatively flat, one can bathe in safety almost all year long. The temperature of the water rarely descends below 16 ° C.
Another way to enjoy the coastline and the beach is on the back of a dromedary or horse.
Essaouira is also famous for its nautical activities: it is a spot for wind- and kite surfing as long as one can remember.
